Prepartions for the final week before the move. She's on wheels (her "high heels") and ready to be escorted west.
Site prep includes digging the basement. The foundation won't be poured until after the house is positioned on the new property.
Rivermark Credit Union will be disassembling the drive-thru teller and temporarily relocating landscaping, light poles, and the blink recharging station. The "royal we" will be pulling the Lesher apartment fence back to make room for the migration.
Emmert International will build a bridge across the parking lot and walk the structure (inch by inch) turning it from facing south toward Hawthorne, then west toward 26th Avenue, and finally north toward Madison at her new address: 2520 SE Madison St.
Who knew when we graduated from Madison, Wisconsin we'd end up moving a 1907 grand old mansion and remodeling her into a seven "Hawthorne District wanna live here" spaces - much nicer than the current 15 commercial office spaces carved out over the last fifty years.
What's next after the remodel? We haven't written a book yet - but first we have to live through the remodel. :)
